About this place
One diner who came for a drink during the day enjoyed mapo tofu and dashimaki tamago (Japanese rolled omelette), along with a sour made generously with fresh kabosu. Pairing the food with the fruit’s tartness makes for an easy-going daytime drinking session.
The menu lists dashimaki tamago, handmade gyoza, fried takoyaki and pork belly with mountain yam among its popular dishes. There are options for putting together a few small plates or adding something fried to make the meal more substantial. The contents of the snack set reportedly change from day to day. It can be a useful starting point if you’re unsure what to order, with the option of adding any dishes that catch your eye.
Drinks include seasonal fruit chu-hi, the sake of the day, and two sakes listed on the menu: Karatanba from Hyogo and Kikusui from Niigata. Choose a fruit-based drink one day or match sake with your food another. Fumifumi is in the basement of the Kawaramachi Nanto Building. One visitor found it easy to go alone. It opens from 12:00 on Sundays and from 15:00 on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
